Vetted is an independent NYC veterinary price-transparency project from Bella Czajkowski, a Brooklyn-based journalist and mother of Wilson and Lou, pictured left.
The project collects real veterinary bills, estimates and clinic prices from New York pet owners to help people understand what common care actually costs, where prices vary and what questions to ask before booking an appointment.
Submitted bills are used to identify prices for exams, vaccines, diagnostics, procedures, medications and related fees. Vetted removes personal identifying details before using any submission.
Vetted was born out of repeated conversations with other dog owners at Fort Greene Park who were similarly surprised or frustrated by how unpredictable vet bills could be.
